AMORY - Edith M. Carter Allred, 74, died Jan. 31, 2007, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Services are Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with the Revs. Bubba Kennedy and Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Haughton Memorial Park. Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Saturday until service time. Mrs. Allred was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Aberdeen to the late Frank and Sema Dunn Carter. She had lived in Amory for many years and was employed in the garment industry as a seamstress. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Allred; brothers, Billy and Harold Carter; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her sons, Johnny G. Allred of Florence, Ala., Terry D. Allred of Smithville, Paul D. Allred of Hatley and Randell Allred of Amory; daughters, Wanda Baldwin of Nettleton, Kay Stevens of Booneville, Shelia Leach of Smithville and Shona Fairbanks of Faulkville, Ala.; brother, Johnny Carter of Atlanta; sisters, Elizabeth Kinchens of Brookville, Fla., Kathryn White of Dublin, Ga., and Alene Allred of Nettleton; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
