Funeral services for Rex F. Adams, age 86, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 1992, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Wollenberg, pastor, officiating and Rev. David Forester assisting.

Rex F. Adams, the son of Jon W. Adams and Eslie Jones Adams, was born on October 24, 1905, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He died on Thursday, August 13, 1992, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Mr. Adams married Ruby Lee Harrell on September 5, 1928, in Marlow.

Rex farmed in the Marlow area before moving to Cyril in 1944. At this time, he began his career at the Apco Refinery and retired in 1970 after twenty-six years of service. Rex worked for B & S Supply in Cement for five years.

Mr. Adams was a member of the First Baptist Church and was ordained as a Deacon in 1965. He also served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and former Chairman of Deacons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one son J. P. Adams, in 1964.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Adams of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Pat and John Prince of Chickasha, and daughter-in-law, Julia Adams of Norman. One brother, Woodrow Adams of Homeland, California, and six sisters, Dot Newman of St. Charles, Illinois, Helen Callahan of Marlow, Beth Graham of Marlow, Jean Ware of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mary Hansgen of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Frances Bayless of Hot Springs, Arkansas survive him. He is also survived by five grandsons and seven great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Marlow Cemetery in Marlow under the direction of the Binyon's Cyril Funeral Home.
