Sister Peggy earned a doctorate in history from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and became part of the founding faculty of St. Joseph College, Orange. As teacher and Academic Dean of the College, Sister Peggy had immense influence on the young women who joined the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange in the 1960's. She was part of the Congregational discussions that resulted in the decision to form the System and she was a member of the inaugural System board that selected the first CEO. She forged relationships with the first lay board members and with the first generation of System leaders. From 1970-2000, Sister Peggy served on boards of various hospitals within St. Joseph Health System. In 1980, Sister Peggy was an administrative intern at St. Jude Medical Center while she completed a Health Care Management Certificate at UCLA.
