Earcy L. Abbott, age 81, of Eldon, died Sunday, January 28, 2007, in Eldon. He was born November 27, 1925, in Cole County, Mo., to Sherman and Effie (Burks) Abbett. He was married in 1948 in Eldon to Bonnie Wilson, who preceded him in death on December 26, 2001. He was a mechanic in the auto industry and a member of the Tuscumbia Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during World War II. Survivors include: three sons, Dale Michael Abbott of Eldon, Rick Abbott of Ottawa, Kan., and Jim L. Abbott of Eldon; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Wilson of Jefferson City; two brothers, Donald Abbett and Kenneth Abbett, both of Tuscumbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two brothers, Alfred and Percy. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with Rev. Randall Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Tuscumbia. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Zion Cemetery.
