Patricia Ann (Kovac) Burke of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Providence Medical Center. "Patty" was born June 3, 1939 in Kansas City, KS to Frank & Helen (Novosel) Kovac. After graduating from Bishop Ward High School in 1957, she joined Trans World Airlines as a flight attendant until she retired to raise her family. Later, Patty joined her father's business, Victory Optical & Supply Co. and for the past 12 years has been employed as an Accounts Management Specialist for the IRS. Patty graciously gave her time as a volunteer to numerous organizations, including Clipped Wings, Save-A-Connie and the Strawberry Hill Ethic Cultural Society. Patty was a member of Christ the King Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank B. Kovac. She is survived by her Mother, Helen M. Kovac, KCK; sons Paul F. Burke, KCK and Air Force Major Andrew P. Burke, AR; daughter Jeanne M. Burke, CA; grandson, Robert J. Steele, CA; brother, F. Peter Kovac, Parkville, MO; and, sister Martha R. Gann and her husband, Keith, KCK. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Saturday, September 23, 2006, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 53rd and Leavenworth Rd, KCK. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00pm Friday, September 22 at the Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., KCK, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Strawberry Hill Museum or Christ the King Church. Patty was a special person to all, especially her family.
