Robert Henry Dodge was born February 11, 1923, in Yoakum, Lavaca County, Texas, the fifth of seven children and third son born to Weldon Chester and Mildred Sue Dally Dodge.
In 1925, Robert, along with his parents and siblings, Weldon Chester, Edna Thelma, Willard Earl, Helen Mildred, and Howard Alvin, relocated to Dunsmuir, Siskiyou County, California, where sister Doris Ruth was born. In 1927, the children and their mother returned to reside in Texas.
Robert was a U S World War II Veteran, Marine Corps, and a Purple Heart Recipient.
After his military service, he moved to Junction City, Lane County, Oregon, where he lived until his death on October 5, 1986, at age 63.
