Curtis Norman dies at age 80
Curtis Norman, son of Joel Norman and Ollie Hill Norman, was born near Dexter Oct 19, 1899, and died at his home near Dexter October 21. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Norman was first married to Miss Evelyn Hillis, and they had two daughters. She died Jan. 6, 1944. He was then married to Mimia Wood at Piggott, Ark., Sept. 6, 1946.
Mr. Norman spent his entire life in this community, and was a farmer before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mimia Norman of the home near Dexter; by two daughters, Mrs. Judy Billings, McRae, Ark., and Mrs. Becky Nichols, Morehouse; by three step-daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bledsoe, Dexter, Mrs. Betty Jean Carlton, Apple Valley, Calif. and Mrs. Betty Jo Williamson, Dexter; by two step-sons, Bill Wood, St. Petersburg, Fla. and Max Wood, Dexter; by three grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great grandchildren; by one brother Leslie Norman, Bernie; and by two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Weber and Mrs. Ruth Nichols, both of Dexter.
Friends may call at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The funeral will be held in Rainey Chapel Wednesday at 1 p.m., with Rev. Frank Heitman officiating. Burial will be in the Dexter Cemetery.
