Virginia and her husband, Curtis, formerly owned and operated Curt's Tavern and she was the original owner of Miss Ginny's Restaurant.
She loved to fish and bet on horses.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Curtis Darden; sisters, Lillie Austill and Winnie Martin; and brothers, Willard, Jerry, and Jim Riney.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Carol Ritter; son, David C. Darden and wife, Charlotte of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren, Gary and John Ritter and Gayle Hochstetler of Evansville, Kim Lake, Jamie Howlett, and Steve Darden of Marshall, Texas; 19 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2007, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Terry Gamblin, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Alexander West Chapel.
