Wanona Elizabeth "Todd" Ader, 82 passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 in Weiser. Wanona was born in Filey, Missouri, July 9, 1924 to Clarence and Myna Marie Todd. In 1935 Clarence and Myna loaded Wanona and her five sisters with all their belongings in the family car (with the sewing machine tied on the back) and headed for Yakima, Wash. Clarence worked odd jobs along the way, stopping long enough to earn money to continue the trip. They landed in Midvale, Idaho and Clarence got a job working for the W. Clay Sutton Ranch. From there Wanona attended school and graduated in 1942. Upon graduation she married her high school sweetheart Grant W. Ader. They traveled to Farragut where Grant worked in the shipyards. In 1945 they moved back to Midvale and purchased their ranch on Sage Creek where they lived the rest of their married lives. Grant played in many fiddle events and contests along with Wanona, Wendell and their daughter-in-law Karen. Upon Grant´s passing, she continued to live in Midvale with her special friend and companion Phil Fairchild. They had many traveling adventures. She enjoyed all the moments she had with her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed having family meals. She always made a point to remember her grandsons and great-grandchildren's birthdays and stopped by to visit often. She was well loved by all of them and they all have fond and everlasting memories. The family loved to take Wanona crappie fishing at Brownlee Reservoir. She was a pretty mean crappie catcher and it was nothing at the end of the day to have a cooler full of crappie to take home. She was accomplished at crochet, handwork and sewed many shirts. She is survived by her son Wendell (Karen) Ader, Midvale, sisters, Donis Williams, Weiser, Fernie (Alton) Stover, Enon, Ohio, Wanda (Cecil) Sutton Ola, sister-in-law, Irma Sipe, close friend and companion, Phil Fairchild, Payette, grandsons, Randy Ader, Fruitland, Byron (Jess) Ader, Fruitland, great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Kirstie, and Amanda Ader, Kevin, Rebecca and Annie Ader, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Grant Ader, her father, Clarence, her mother, Mina, her brother Newton, her nephews, Steve Page, California, Perry Sutton, Ola, her sisters Reba Claussen and Ruby Page. Funeral Services will be held at the Midvale Church of Christ Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Eastside Cemetery Midvale.
