OBITUARY, August 21, 1915: Mrs. Robert McDonald passes away at Portland, Oregon Miss Abbie Allen received a letter Wednesday from Mrs. L. Allen at Portland, Oregon, stating that Mrs. Edna A McDonald, widow of the late Robert McDonald, passed away at the home of her son, J N McDonald, in that city Sunday. Deceased had complained of failing health in her letters to relatives here but they were not prepared for her death at this time.

Deceased was 74 years old She crossed the plains with her parents in 1850 and was a resident of this valley for over forty years. Her husband, who was a farmer in the Patterson Pass section of this valley for many years, died two years ago and since that time she has been making her home with her children in Portland, Oregon.

She leaves six children: Mrs. H. L. Abbott, Hester Beck, of Los Angeles, Wm McDonald of New York, J. N. McDonald and Mrs. L. Allen of Portland, Frank McDonald of Los Angeles and Arthur McDonald of Stockton, She leaves also a half sister, Miss Abbie Allen, and three half-brothers: Sylvanus, A. L. and E. L. Allen, all of this valley."

Edna Ann Stewart McDonald was a loving, outgoing personality is reflected in the kindly things she did.

UTAH PIONEER: 1847 arrived in Salt Lake Valley in Sept 25th with Captain A 0 Smoot's company, George B Wallace captain Of 50 and Joseph Mount captain of 10.
