Mrs. Rebecca Lorean Schenck Bridges, 76, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Hickory.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Julius Ervin and Floria Hogue Schenck. She was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Waco.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bridges Sr.; a son, Thomas Malachi; and 13 siblings.
She is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Shannon Malachi of East Orange, N.J., Edward and Shamia Bridges of Georgia, Susan Withrow of Shelby, Carol and Command Sgt. Maj. Harold Gill of Kuwait, Robert Bridges Jr. of Kings Mountain, Michael Bridges of the home and Mitchell and Sharon Bridges of Cherryville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, J.B. and Blanch Schenck of Ohio, Henry and Alva J. Schenck of Waco, Ralph and Barbara Schenck of Charlotte and Robert and Ula Schenck of Florence, S.C.; a sister, Catherine Schenck Simpson of Virginia; 33 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and special nieces, Cathy Whitworth and Shirley Roberts.
The funeral will be at Washington Missionary Baptist Church
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
