Viola N. Ackley, 104, of 5092 S. Onondaga Road, Nedrow, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Viola was born in Addison, NY, the daughter of the late Welby and Lulu Wallis. She was a graduate of Elmira College. She moved to San Diego in 1943 where she worked for Ryan Aircraft during World War II and as an Office Manager for Dr. Minton Fetter for 27 years. She returned to Syracuse in 1972 and was a member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ackley is survived by her son-in-law, Stewart E. Farrington of Nedrow; sister-in-law, Vinny Davis of Apple Valley, CA; grandson, Steven Farrington; granddaughter, Christine Bishop; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ackley in 1962; daughter, June Farrington in 1987 and grandson, Peter Farrington in 1972. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church, 275 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse. Burial was private in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church, 275 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13207 or to a charity of ones choice.
