Bennie Baca, sister, aunt, all of which she would answer to, was a very quiet person and was always able to spend time with her many loved ones. She loved to cook and feed everyone who entered her home. Bennie also had a green thumb, planting her garden every spring and sharing her crop with neighbors and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucia Barela Baca and Martin Baca; brothers, Jose, Juan, Manuel, Arsenico and Hilario Baca; one sister, Carmelita Zamora; niece, Eloisa Sanchez; and her brother-in-law, Elias S. Chavez.
Bennie is survived by her loving sister, Isabel Chavez; loving nieces, Ida Garley and her husband, Eloy, and Mary Leyva and her husband, David; nephew, Paul Chavez and his wife, Cindy; sister-in-law, Elicia Baca; and many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A viewing was held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, Jan. 15, followed by a rosary recited by Deacon Rudy Zamora. A final visitation was held at San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias on Tuesday, Jan. 16, with a funeral Mass celebrated by Father Dennis Dolter.
