*** Irene was my great-grandmother. She helped my mom raise me as my mom is mildly mentally challenged. She was a great woman and I miss her so very much. I'm lucky to have her wit and personality. I hope I turn out to be exactly like her. She brought a smile to my face everyday. When she went blind, I think that was the downfall for her. She didn't really want to live anymore. She always told me that she was a bother to everyone and that was not true! I wish she was still here with me. I went to her with all of my problems and she always knew how to make me feel better. When she died, I felt like I lost my best friend. It still bothers me to this day that she's gone.. I find myself sitting and crying almost everyday because she's gone. It's taken more of a toll on me now than when I knew of her passing. She was a great woman who I will cherish for the rest of my life. ***
