Rebecca was born in Burke County NC, the daughter of Charles Schell & Hannah Martin. She married (1st) David Franklin in 1820 at Burke County MO. This marriage was blessed with six Children. The family moved from Burke County, NC to McMinn County TN in 1836. Her husband died there in 1844, and she returned to her family home in MO. She married (2nd) John Collins there in 1846.
