LLOYD PHILLIP BAKER, 85, of Memphis died Monday, January 8, 2007, at Saint Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Lloyd was born in Bloomington, IN on May 20, 1921 to the late William Earl Baker and Stella Augusta Rader Baker. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Air Force from August 1942 to December 1969. His overseas duty included tours in China, Korea, Puerto Rico, Libya, North Africa, and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant in December 1969 and went to work at the Memphis Defense Depot in January 1970, and retired from there in 1983. He married Eunice Maebelle Law in 1964. He lived in the Parkway Village Section of Memphis for 27 years, before moving into the Franklin Park Retirement Home in July 1997. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and golf. He leaves one son, Don Davis, of Searcy, AR; one daughter, Betty Walton, of Memphis; one sister, Martha Alice Milligan, of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
