Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in Bethel Lutheran Church for Loyd Anderson, 71, who died Saturday in a Minot hospital.
Rev. Robert Ferrel officiated and interment was in the New Town Cemetery. Mrs. Lois Estvold was organist and Mrs. Marlys Aubol was soloist.
Pallbearers were Marne Aubol, Don Lund, Francis Goodall, Gilbert Rohde, John Lacey and Art Iverson.
Loyd Anderson was born May 24, 1905 at Wolverton, Minnesota, to Afred and Anna Anderson. As a young man he moved to Montana and in 1918, settled south of Sanish. He was employed at the Ford Garage and Westland Service Station in Sanish and at Aubol's, Inc., in New Town.
For 12 years, he operated Loyd's Exxon Station, New Town, before retiring. On October 17, 1935. He married Alice Rud at Minot.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Chamber of Commerce and the New Town Gold Club. He also had been active in the New Town Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Cersin, Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Thomas Valley, Ridgefield, Conn.; a son, Rodney of Labanon, Oregon; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Norman, and sister, Verna.
