Shirley Ann Gomez

Shirley Ann Gomez, 63, of Sweetwater died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sweetwater with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating.

Burial will follow in Slaters Chapel Cemetery in Nolan under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, in the McCoy Chapel of Memories.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1941, in Texarkana. She married Jose Gomez on Sept. 17, 1966, in Dallas. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She lived in Sweetwater since 1975 and was a housewife.

Survivors include her husband, Jose Gomez of Sweetwater; three sons, Vincent Canales of Arlington, Raymond Canales of Irving and Ben Canales and wife, Lynette, of Reserve, La.; one daughter, Yolanda Canales of Dallas; two sisters, Ruby Baldwin of Sachse and Brenda Crawford of Ruby; two brothers, Leonard Nalley and Kenneth Nalley, both of Waxahachie; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of the Big Country.
