Woodrow Wilson Looney was born on July 26, 1912 in Lawrence County, Tennessee, the son of Robert Montgomery Looney (1877–1946) and Leona Estella "Lona" (Cross) Looney (1872–1960).
He was married to Faylah Dee Rhodes (1917–2017), and she was the daughter of Carl Alexander Rhodes (1891–1966) and Maude Lee (Hensley) Rhodes (1892–1969).
Woodrow was a retired lumberman and a member of the Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Living in Iron City, Lawrence County, he was 53 years old when he died on March 31, 1966 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, after a long illness.
Survivors included his widow Mrs Faylah Rhodes Looney, a son and two daughters, all in Iron City, brothers Lee Looney of Spring City, Tennessee and Carson Looney at Chattanooga, Tennessee, sisters Mrs A W Green in Lyndon, Kentucky, Mrs John Gifford of Iron City and Mrs Herschel Hensley at Florence, Alabama and four grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on April 1st at First Baptist Church in Iron City, and burial was in Restview in Loretto, Lawrence County.
