CLARENCE MILLSAPS VICITIM OF FLU

DIED AT THE HOSPITAL LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Influenza claimed another victim here Wednesday night in the person of Clarence Millsaps of Elk Creek. The remains were taken to that town Thursday and were ____ to the grave in the Elk Creek cemetery* yesterday.
Clarence Millsaps was a native of this county and about 26 years of age. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Millsaps and a ____ young man. He came to this city some time ago and worked for ___ C. ____ in the rice harvest. Last week he was taken ill and was brought to the sanitorium where he was treated for influenza. His ailment soon developed into pneumonia and although all possible was done for him he succumbed to the disease.
His parents** came in Thursday and accompanied the remains to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tadlock, uncle and aunt of the deceased came up from Colusa to attend the funeral. – Transcribed by E.

**1900 John W. Millsaps was living with parents Hiram and Annie Millsaps. He was a widower. Clarence b. July 1884 and Mabel b. Nov 1892 were enumerated as grandchildren. They were living in Township 3 of Glenn Co., CA.
1910 John W. age 46, Clarence 17 and Ann 77 were enumerated in township 3 of Glenn Co., CA. John was a widower.
