Shirley Ann Rauls Bradford was born September 19,1947 in Waco, Texas. She was born to the parentage ofNorman Rauls Jr. and Rosie Lee Watson Rauls. Her demise was February 24, 1998. She attended Waco Public Schools and graduated from A. J. Moore High School in the class of 1966. She also attended Paul Quinn College and Four C College. On February 24,1967, she married McArthur Bradford, Jr. and to this union four children were born. She united with the New Mount Olive Baptist Church at a very early age under the pastorage of Rev. William H. Gayle Sr. She was a member of the first youth choir and in later years became the youth director. She was also a member of the BTU. Sts. Bradford was a dedicated member of the Union Baptist District Women's Missionary Auxiliary, where she served as recording secretary. She worked faithfully for 27 years as president of Mission II at New Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a member of the young adult and senior choirs. She served as treasurer of the senior choir, and had served as choir secretary for the last 11 years. She was, a Sunday School teacher and served as chairperson of the decorating committee. She also served as talent coordinator of the Sunday School. Shirley was employed in many capacities at Sears Roebuck for over 25 years and many people knew her because of her long tenure there. She was a valued employee and received several distinguished service awards. Shirley performed many community services when she was aware that a helping hand was needed. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosehelen; a brother and her father. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 31 years, McArthur Bradford Jr.; two daughters, Losonnia Bradford of Dallas, Texas and Yolanda Bradford of Waco, Texas; one son, McArthur Bradford III of Waco, Texas; mother, Mrs. Rosie Lee Edwards of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Gwendolyn Cotton of Waco, Texas and Sherri Edwards of Dallas, Texas; five brothers, Clarence Rau1s, Norman Rau1s, III, Rev. Ara Lee (Barbara) Rau1s Sr. and Ronnie Edwards, all of Waco, Texas and Ricky (Pamela) Edwards of Dallas, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, McArthur and Helen Bradford Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Joe) Blocker and Ethel Bradford, both of Waco, Texas; one brother-in-law, Ronnie (Beverly) Bradford of Waco, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
