Lewis (went by Lute) Taylor Rominger was the sixth of eight known children of Charles (went by Carl) William Rominger (1810-1897) and Mary Ann Walter Miksch Rominger (1812-1894), who married 29 Jan 1838 at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Carl had previously been married to Fannie Holston Rominger (1811-1837) on 08 Feb 1833 at Bartholomew County, Indiana; with whom he had two children, both of whom died young.
Lute married Lillie Leona Josephine Gillespie (1864-1958) on 10 Nov 1899 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Lute and Lillie were the parents of three known children, namely:
1. Charles William Rominger (1901-1977)
2. Mary Ellen Rominger Thomas (1904-1985)
3. Lula Grace Rominger Lewis (1906-1995)
