27 Dec 2006: Eli E. Ancheff, 77, Mechanicsburg, died Sunday at Health South Rehab. He retired as the owner and operator of Eli's Tavern in Highspire. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg; was a member of Enola American Legion and was an Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife Agnes S. Ancheff; son Stephen M. Petrovic of Grantville; daughter Mary Lou Snyder of Enola; grandchildren Stephen, Cindi, Marsha, Susan and Brandi; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers Stephen and Boris, both of Bressler and John of CT. Service Friday at Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola. Burial with full military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
