Mrs. Edward (Hattie) Abbott, 82, of Route 1, Smithfield, died Tuesday, July 23, 1985 at the Jewish Hospital, Louisville. She was a native of Henry County, the former Hattie Garriott, daughter of the late William A. and Eva Smith Garriott; a former resident of Crestwood and a member of the Sligo Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Simpson, Pewee Valley, Mrs. John (Edythe) Foree, Smithfield, Mrs. Joe L. (Bonnie) Foree, Bedford and Mrs. Gene (Dianne) Cook, Bedford; one sister: Mrs. Dorothy Winburn, Lawrenceville, Illinois; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Bob C. Speegle, pastor of the Sligo Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Louisville Gardens, East.
