Obediah was the son of Moses Winters and Elizabeth Williams.
He married about 1799, Virginia, to Elizabeth Prillaman and a few years later came to Ohio near Dayton, and later to Putnam County, Illinois. He was a Farmer.
The 1850 mortality schedule says he died of rheumatism, after a one-week illness

Mary "Polly" Winters (1814-unk) died in infancy.
Aaron Winters (1816-1836).
Preston Winters (1820-1825).
