☆ George A. Brown, 78 passed away Friday October 17, 2008 at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines IA. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 20, 2008 at the Lawson Baptist Church Lawson, Mo. Burial was in Southpoint Cemetery Orrick, Mo.

George was born on July 6, 1930 in Richmond, the son of Claude and Beatrice Irene (Bellis) Brown.  He was married to Shirley Ann (Bullock) Brown on December 16, 1950.

He attended William Jewell College. George started out farming, He then worked for Buick, Oldsmobile and Ponitac. In 1951 he returned to farming with his father. He also sold seed corn and fertilizer. He later worked for the Sutherland Lumber Company before retiring.

George was a member of the Lawson Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Brenda and one sister Wanda.

Survivors are his wife Shirley and five sons:

1) Philip E Brown and his wife Brenda
2) W Wayne Brown
3) Steve A Brown and his wife Rhonda
4) Michael J Brown and his wife
    Stephanie
5) Paul K Brown

12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
