Frederick was the son of George Yerian and his 1st wife, Anna Barbara Fosselmann. He was born in Linn Township of what is now Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, and moved about 1773 to Mount Pleasant in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He served in the Revolution from Westmoreland County in the Continental Line, Rangers of the Frontier.
He married 1st before 1785 to Anna Maria Dorn, daughter of John and Barbara Dorn/Thorn.
He married 2nd about 1797 to Elizabeth (surname unknown, possibly Dorn or Hawks).

He moved into Ohio in the early 1800's living in Belmont County, Muskingum County, and finally in a part of Morgan County that became Noble County after his death.

Besides the children linked below he had:
Catherine b.ca.1825, m.Mar 4,1852,Noble Co. OH,John F. Williamson.
