Franklin Weaver
East Liverpool -- Services are planned Saturday for Franklin R. Weaver, 92, formerly of 902 Phoenix Ave., Chester, who died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 1990, at the East Liverpool Extended Care Center where he had resided two years. He was born Sept. 26, 1897, in Center Township, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph E. Weaver and Clara Belle Wanee Weaver. A resident of Chester 67 years, Mr. Weaver and his wife owned and operated the former Weaver's Restaurant. A former railroad employee in Ohio, he also had been an employee of Superior Cord Tire Co., the former Goddard Bakery and the former Taylor, Smith and Taylor China Co. of Chester. A charter member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 26 in East Liverpool, he also was a member of the Chester First Christian Church; Masonic Lodge 142; Scottish Rite, Valley of Wheeling; Hancock Chapter 14, Royal Arch Masons; Weirton Commandery 30; Northern Panhandle Shrine Club of Weirton; Northern Panhandle Tin Lizzy Patrol; Osiris Shrine Club of Wheeling; Knight Masons of Dublin, Ireland; Shannon Council 28 of Akron; and the Chester Golden Age Club. His wife, Ola B. Allison Weaver, whom he married April 30, 1919, died Jan. 22, 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Stella Ward of Chester; three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Minister Joe Kelley of the church is to conduct the services at 11 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Entombment is to be at the Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call at the chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
