William Edward "Bill" Winters, Sr., 87, of Leonardtown, MD died January 10, 2006 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born November 28, 1918 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Ernest and Agnes Virginia Brown Winters. He was the loving husband of Margaret Winters whom he married in Leonardtown, MD on October 12, 2002. He is survived by his children: Joyce Winters Keller of FL, William Winters, Jr. and James Winters, Sr. both of MD; sister: Doris Ivey of NH; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy M. Knott on May 28, 1992 in Leonardtown, MD and siblings: Virginia Smoot, Robert Winters, Anna Raba and Elizabeth Jones. Mr. Winters attended Eastern High School. He moved to St. Mary's County in 1948 from Washington, DC. He was the Founder & President of Winters Sheet Metal, Inc. for 56 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years on board the USS Aucilla. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Vibes Singing Group.
