Elnora A. "Nonie" Storz Cruz, 77, of Independence, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at the Independence Regional Health Care Center.

Mrs. Cruz was born on July 8, 1933 to Chris A. and Lila (Brewer) Storz. She was employed by the Department of Defense for 31 years, retiring in 1990 from the Marine Corps Finance Center. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. Preceding her in death was her husband, Bernard Cruz, in 1998.

Among her survivors is her daughter, Teresa Clum, of Independence; two grandsons, Patrick B. Davis and Andrew M. Clum; sister, Betty Jo Dacy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday, Dec. 11 at the Mount Washington Forever Mausoleum Chapel, 614 Brookside in Independence. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Entombment at Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Wayside Waifs.
