US Congressman from New York. He graduated from Union College in 1805, studied law, and became an attorney in 1808. He practiced in New York City, and later moved to Delhi. He was an active member of the militia, advancing to Colonel in the Sixth Division. He was a Trustee of Delaware Academy and also served as Delhi's Village President. In 1822 he was elected to the US House of Representatives as a Crawford Republican and served one term, 1823 to 1825. He did not run for reelection and resumed his Delhi law practice.
