Composer. Born in Paris, Idaho, he was a music teacher at the New England Conservatory when he took the position as the Assistant Director of the Cleveland Orchestra in 1927. He started composing songs and symphonies and in the course of his career wrote over 100 works. His noted pieces included "From a Mountain Lake", "Exotic Dance No. 1", "Where Loveliness Keeps House", "The Lost Child" and "Piano Quintet". He retired in 1950 and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he died eight years later.
