She was the sister of Marla (Graber-Porter) York; and the half-sister of Roger Victor Graber-Hayes (1942-1997), Gloria (Lapham) Graber, Margaret (Lapham) Kernan, and Jacqueline (Lapham) Shindler.
On 21 August 1964, Sharolyn married Lonnie Arthur Rush (1945-1989), the son of Arthur Rush (1913-1982) and Eva Mae Alexander (1915-1997), in Tijuana, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Sharolyn and Lonnie had two daughters: Dianne and Annette.
After the birth of their first daughter, Sharolyn and Lonnie moved to Westminster, Orange Co., California, where Sharolyn's parents had been living for a few years. In 1970, Sharolyn was diagnosed as having "black cancer" (or malignant melanoma). She passed away on October 31, 1970 in Westminster; and was buried Westminster Memorial Park.
