Ida was the adopted daughter of George Yokell and Jennie Bronson of North Dakota. Ida was the biological daughter of Daniel Henry Ohnmeiss and Clara Anna Wren. Her biological siblings were: Raymond Harvey Ohnmeiss, Elsie M. Ohnmeiss, Mabel Irene Ohnmeiss and Phoebe Olive Ohnmeiss. Elsie died young.
