Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palmer-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing with Wendyl Heffington officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Oilton.
Dr. Ashby was born Jan. 14, 1917, to Jesse and Mabel Ashby in McLean, Texas, the fourth of four children. He had a long and successful practice in Pampa, Texas, beginning in the years during World War II and extending over the next 50 years, as both a family practitioner and general surgeon.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; five children, Charles H. Ashby Jr., Bobby Charles Ashby, Cynthia Burlini, Myke Hubbard and April Allen; four stepchildren, Melody Bryant, Marsha Warden, David Geyer and John Geyer; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to In Search of the Lord's Way, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083 or Westview Boys' Home, P.O. Box 553, Hollis, OK 73550.
