Frances was a long time member, and former president, of Broad River Genealogical Society. We will miss her terribly.

Shelby— Mrs. Frances Lackey Carpenter, 73, of Cherryville Road, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at White Oak Manor.
Born in Cleveland County to the late David Franklin and Texie Hoyle Lackey, she worked at A.V. Wray's and Sons and Dedmon's Livestock Sale Barn. She was a lifelong member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and a member of Broad River Genealogy Society. She loved gardening, canning, and most of all traveling and she had a great love of family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Albert Carpenter; son, Stuart Franklin Carpenter; daughter, Jamie Carpenter Pearson; and grandchildren, Jason and Michelle Pearson, all of Shelby.

Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Elizabeth Baptist Church Sanctuary

Funeral: 3 p.m. Monday at Elizabeth Baptist Church
Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
