Solon Stoddard died of chronic endorarditis at his home in Youngsville on Friday April 11 age 74. Son of Rolin Stoddard and Ruth Main he was born February 4 1845 on the Stoddard homestead now occupied by Andrew Weissenfluh. He was a carpenter for many years and put up many buildings in Youngsville. On September 28 1870 married Elmira Gorton of Youngsville and the ceremony taking place at Stevensville. Leaves 2 daughters - Adele wife of Clarence E Roth of White Sulpur Springs and Mrs Geneva C Inderlied of Youngsville. A son Bert L died a couple of years ago. Also leaves 2 brothers and 1 sister - Rolin of Westport Ct., Mrs Herman Goodsell of Andover, Ct., and Main of Youngsville. He was a cousin to the well known educator S B Stoddard who was the author of ""Stoddard's Practical Arithmetic"" which for many years was a text book in the public schools of the state
