Barraza died Dec. 9 in Gallup. He was born March 29, 1950 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Barraza was employed at UNM-Gallup College.
Survivors included his wife, Carole Vasquez of Gallup; sons, Joe A. Barraza and Matthew J. Barraza of Gallup; daughters, Theresa V. Joe, Sandra Ramires, Alicia Barraza and Mary L. Barraza of Gallup; brothers, Manuel Barraza, Genaro Bazzaza, Guererro Barraza, Facundo Barraza, Pepe Barraza and Gilberto Barraza; sister, Maria Chaves Barraza; and two grandchildren.
Barraza was preceded in death by his parents, Genaro and Aurelia Barraza.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Padilla, Ray Trujillo, Gilbert Barraza, Joe Herrera, Ricky Barraza and Ray Barraza.
The family will receive friends and relatives after the burial services at First Baptist Church.
