George was born to Dimitri Thymaras and Stamatina Harami and was born in Spetsas, Greece. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1920's. He had Americanized his sir name, which we later learned was actually Thymaras and the name of Spetas was the same as the island he was from, "Spetses."

He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.

In the year of 2000 we finally met some of his extended family for the first time and anxious to get to know other relatives as well.

Georgios D. Spetsas A.K.A. Thymaras married Pearl Jane Gritton in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1926. They settled in Bingham Canyon where he worked for the Copper mines as well as Union Pacific Railroad in Salt Lake City, Utah.

George and Pearl had eight children. Four sons and four daughtes. Their children were James, Bill, Athena, Matina, Gust, Helen, Mabel and George.

He and a good friend were preparing to return to their homeland for a visit when he suddenly died.
