Glenn E. Alsop, 75, of New Harmony, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Glenn was born March 24, 1931, Bug Town, rural New Harmony, Ind., the son of Cortland and Juna (Mounts) Alsop. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Korean War from December 1952 to November 1954, and was a member of the American Legion. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Spencer) Alsop in August 2004. Surviving are two brothers, Ivan and Donald Alsop, both of New Harmony, Ind.; and a sister, Margie Grabert of Mount Vernon, Ind. Also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Werry Funeral Home, New Harmony Chapel on Friday, October 27, 2006, at 10 a.m. with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home today, October 26, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Maple Hill Cemetery of New Harmony, Ind., in the name of Glenn.
