OBIT:
James A. Aldridge, 78, of Ottumwa, passed away at 9:15 AM Saturday, following a stroke suffered about 10 days ago.
The son of Joseph and Melissa Harter Aldridge, he was born in Mahaska County near Fremont. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for about 35 years, working as a teamster and later a shipping clerk in a Mahon wholesale company.
He was unmarried. For 35 years he had been a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles No 114 of Ottumwa. His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Josie Yenney of Fremont and Mrs. Mary Jane Cochrane of Park Rapids Minnesota, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Fremont funeral Chapel, in charge of Rev. Alton H. Zischke, with burial in Cedar Township cemetery.
