Wife of Samuel Emrick, and mother of eleven children, all of whom survived to have children of their own.

Samuel and Hannah had over 50 grandchildren. A newspaper obituary for Hannah from the Bedford (IA) Free Press, dated 16 April 1896, referred to her simply as "Grandma Emrick", and identified her place of death as near Siam, (Taylor County) IA, where she died at the age of 87. Samuel died in Mt. Ayr Twp, Osborne Co., KS in 1880 at the age of 73.

Hannah was born in Rowan County, North Carolina, and went west with her parents to Ohio, where she married Samuel Emrick.

She was the daughter of John Lewis (Johann Ludwig) Morkert and Catherine Cocklereese (Kachelreiss), both from North Carolina.
