2/1/1909 - Atlanta Constitution - David Augustus Armistead, one of the pioneer citizens of Atlanta, died at 8:30 o'clock last night at his residence, 31 Corley Street. Mr. Armistead was aged 80 years and lived in Atlanta when the city was a mere village. He served through the Civil War in the Confederate Army as a member of Cobb Legion Cavalry. Surviving him are his widow and one son, William. The funeral services will occur tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
