Last Tuesday a child was born to Rev. and Mrs. M. C. Arrowood at their home in Marshville, Union County. Now mother and child are both dead, and a sorrowing husband and three motherless children are left to mourn their loss. Mrs. Arrowood died Thursday morning and was brought to King's Mountain on Friday's noon train. From Mr. Arrowood's congregation, Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Mrs Morgan were of the sad funeral party who came all the way from Marshville. The burial took place at Long Creek Friday afternoon near the childhood home of the deceased. The funeral exercises were conducted by Rev. R. P. Smith, assisted by Revs. M. McG. Shields and J. M. Garrison. Mrs. Arabelle Arrowood was the first daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. McGill of King's Mountain, and was 34 years of age. She leaves two sons and a daughter, their ages being 9, 11, and 14 years. These Mr. Arrowood left with their grandparents and returned with a heavy heart to his ministerial labors Saturday afternoon. The companion in his joys and sorrows is no longer by his side. A woman of many graces of character, a devoted wife, a loving mother has gone to her reward.
