.MRS CORA B WRIGHT
Mrs. Cora B Wright,84, Bethany home , Dubuque, IA, died at Finlay hospital, Dubuque, Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. after a lingering illness. She was born in Benton, ME Dec 24, 1862.
As a child she moved to Midway and later to LaCrosse where she was deputy clerk of court under her husband, George D Wright and later in the LaCrosse county highway department. Three years ago she went to Bethany home from Minneapolis, Minn. where she had resided for ten years. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian church of Minneapolis, was formerly a member of LCrosse chapter no.22 OES where she was secretary for many years, and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's club while she was in LaCrosse.
She is survived by one son, Laud H. Mell of Harlingen, Tex. and one niece, Mrs. Myrtle Bock of Dubuque, IA. Her first husband, William H Mell, her second husband, George D Wright and one son, Earl G Mell preceeded her in death.
Her body was in state Tuesday evening at the Haudenshield funeral home in Dubuque, IA after which it was taken to the Dahl funeral home in LaCrosse where funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. A.J. Niebrugge officiating. Burial will be in Brice cemetery near Midway, Wis. Friends may call at the Dahl funeral home this evening 7 tp 9 o'clock.
