His house once stood across the street from the Fire Department. His duties included ensuring the Fire Station was locked up nightly before 10:00P.M. The only day the Station was found unsecure was January 1, 1940 as he passed away sometime the night before.
The legend is he still walks the station each day ensuring is it safe and secure. NUMEROUS Firefighter have reported over the years that they hear footsteps when no one else is in the station and have seen a ghostly figure going through walls where doors used to exist. The station has undergone renovations over the years. Also folks have reported hearing pool balls clacking on a non-existent pool table that was once located in the rear of the engine bay.
