Daughter of Harpley Johnson who was a Creek Indian and Amy Cajeyadmani who was a Yankton Sioux from Wagner, SD.

Preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter Leigh Michelle Coffee Solomon; a great granddaughter Darlene of Bellingham, WA; and a great grandson Sean Ray Birtail Sarren.

Elizabeth lived around the Okmulgee area for 17 years, graduating from a country school at Nuyaka, before graduating from Haskell Institute (now known as Haskell Indian Nations Univ in Lawrence, KS.) She went on to work 2 years as a secretary/receptionist on the Hualapai-Havasupai Indian Reservation near Kingman, AZ. She also worked 2 years in the Military Service Dept. at Tinker AF Base in OK City. She and her family moved to an area near Lawrence, KS, and after 15 yrs, returned to OK, settling in Tahlequah in 1963. She was employed at Sequoyah High School Nov. of 1967, with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 18 yrs, and with the Cherokee Nation for 9 yrs, holding positions as secretary/receptionist and registrar when she retired in Aug 1994 as records management specialist.

She is survived by 7 children: Leonard Coffee; David Coffee and wife Nora; Robin Coffee; Linda Sarren; Deena Johnson and husband Sam of Tahlequah; James Coffee and wife Mary of Dodge City, KS; and son Steven Coffee and Janelle of Siloam Springs.

She is survived by 11 grandchildren: Lindsey Coffee of San Jose, CA; Elizabeth Houser and husband Stephen of Carl Junction, MO; Christopher Coffee and wife Amy of Lenexa, KS; Elaine Veales and husband Robert; Crystal Drywater and husband Matt; Kelly and Eric Vann; Vincent Sarren and wife Nova of Tahlequah; Jody Sarren of Miami; Jamie Settlemyer; and Donald Coffee of West Siloam Springs. She is survived by 16 g-grandchildren: Tracy Luella, Peter Andrew, Dale Solomon Jr.; Asheley, Stephen James, and Jonathan Wesley Houser; Keeper James Harpley Coffee;Brandi Sioux and Shalia Shay Sarren; Nahni Jahlize; Skylar, Briona, and Aaron Settlemyer; Cameron Dewqynbe, and Naomi Danae Veales; and Keegan and her daughters: Emily Rene and Kaytlynn Roma. She also had 8 Step-grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 sisters: Ginger Johnson Gaither and husband Tom, and his sons Neal and Dylan; and Dee Crawford and husband Paul, and son Christopher and daughter Michelle, with her son Kyle of Ft. Worth, TX.
