She was the widow of David Warner Alexander who died September 6, 1984. Born on May 20, 1920 in Old Forge, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Turrell White. She was a 1938 graduate of Old Forge High School. Before her retirement she was employed by the Continental Cigar Company of Scranton, PA for 25 years. Iva was a long time member of the Langcliffe Presbyterian Church in Avoca where she served as an elder, a trustee, and a member of the Sunday School Class #3. She was a member of the Avoca Community Choir and the VIP Moosic Pinochle Club for 40 years. She was a past president of the Moosic Senior Citizens Club. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Iva maintained her wonderful spirit and sense of humor even during her illness. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Mary Beth Welter, Delaware City, DE, Karen Weiter, Bear, DE, Judy Alexander, Bordentown, NJ, and Kathy Koft, Monmouth Junction, NJ; a sister, Edna Healey, Old Forge, PA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Alexander and a brother, William White.
The funeral will be Saturday, August 3 at 11 am from the Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, Main St. in Avoca with services by the Rev. Dr. Susan J. Ezell, Pastor. Interment will be in the Langcliffe Cemetery in Avoca
