A host of friends and admirers, including many associates in railroad work during the last 30 years, will pay tribute to the memory of Charles Doud in funeral services to be held at the Polk Street Methodist Church this morning at 10 o'clock.
Mr. Doud, chief clerk in the office of the general manager of the Western Lines of the Santa Fe here, died suddenly in Lubbock Thursday.
Dr. C.C. Grimes, pastor of the Polk Street Methodist Church, will speak the funeral rites.
J.H. Ayers, H.J. Funk, Robert Wilson, H.H. Nye, I.H. Davies, R.F. Pixley, Ed Browder and J.B. Mireau will be pallbearers.
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery beside Mrs. Doud, who died here about ten years ago.
Mr. Doud, who was 62 years old, had been a resident of Amarillo since 1909, with the exception of two years he lived in Lubbock and served as vice president and auditor of the Crosbyton & South Plains Railroad, later absorbed by the Panhandle & Santa Fe.
He entered the Santa Fe service here in 1909, as an employe in the auditor's office. He was made chief clerk to the general manager in 1919, and had held that position since.
Survivors include two sons, Edward and Wilfred Doud, and two daughters, Misses Martha Frances Doud and Rochelle Doud, the latter residing in Dallas. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. L.J. Lewis, of Hastings, Neb., and a brother, R.B. Doud, of Centerville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be in charge of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
