Funeral services for Ann Lou Absher, 94, of Midland and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jason Shuttlesworth officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at McCoy Funeral Home.

Absher passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, in Midland. She was born Feb. 22, 1914, in Hamilton. She married Nolan Wayne Absher on Sept. 1, 1933, in Roscoe. She was a member of Avondale Baptist Church and had lived in Sweetwater since 1939. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Ruffin and husband Gary of Sweetwater and Mary Beth Corbett of Midland; six grandchildren, David Corbett, Diane Wright, Brad Smith, Greg Ruffin, Amy Teague and Todd Brunson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 6, 1991; one daughter, Patricia Werning, on Aug. 8, 2003; and one great-grandson, Todd Wright on Aug. 28, 1984.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, David Corbett, Brad Smith, Greg Ruffin, Paul Wright, Steven Teague, Kyle Wright, Sam Smith and Josh Chapman.

Honorary pallbearers will be her unseen angels.

The family requests that memorials be made to Helen Greathouse, 420 Helen Greathouse Circle, Midland, TX 79707 or Hospice of Midland, 2200 West Illinois, Midland, TX 79701.
